MUSEUM "PEDRO VILLALOBOS"
FOUNDATION. It is in operation since 2006. It's a museum
specialised in Natural History.

COLLECTION. The Natural History Museum "Pedro
Villalobos" offers to the local, national and international public,
exhibitions of the rich biodiversity of flora and fauna of the department,
under the Amazonian University of Pando. Here, stand skeletons or single giant
tapir among 187 species threatened with extinction. 120 species of reptiles
located in jars stuffed with cataloging. 66 snakes (11 are poisonous). Giant
crocodile fossil fragment 14 m long. Many stuffed bats, beetles, 289 recorded
bird samples, stuffed turtles and numerous photographs. Also, there is a carriage
at the entrance to the museum, showing the rise of the chestnut.
SERVICES. By guided visits they exhibit the great
wealth of biodiversity of flora and fauna of the department, under the Center
for Research and Preservation of the Amazonic University of Pando. It has
collections of specimens of mammalogy, ornithology, entomology, ichthyology and
herpetology, innovative branches of science for students.
VISITING HOURS. Monday to Friday Hrs. 8:00 to 12:00 and 15:00
to 18:00
